Cooper Square Committee’s Neighborhood Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (N-NORC) is our flagship program for seniors. Our N-NORC promotes healthy aging — seniors helping seniors to remain active and connected to support networks.
Our N-NORC services include:
- Tenant counseling and eviction prevention
- Assistance with
- subsidized and low-income housing applications
- income support and public benefits applications
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) applications
- Senior Citizen Rent Income Exemption (SCRIE)
- Medicaid applications
- Section 8 recertification
- Referrals to social service providers (Meals on Wheels, Home Health Aide, etc.)
- Case management & benefits planning
- Educational workshops
- Health and wellness
- Disaster preparedness and recovery
- Legal issues
- Financial planning
- Recreational and social activities
